About Me

I am a Wyoming native and have three school-age sons, who are my number one priority. My husband, Justus, was born and raised in this wonderful town and we returned to Lander because we know it is one of the best places to raise a family. I am a School Psychologist and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University and a Masters of Science in School Psychology from National University.

Since 2008, I have worked in an educational setting collaborating with teachers, staff, and administrators on best practices for children. I have a strong foundation of developmentally appropriate learning strategies for students and a vast knowledge of child development. Additionally, I understand the importance of student mental health and well-being. I realize the importance of collaboration with parents, stakeholders, and staff to provide the best resources for student success.

My professional experience includes providing psychological testing and assessment as a consultant/employee for 7 Wyoming school districts and 3 California school districts as a School Psychologist/Behavior Analyst. Additionally, I have also provided services for 2 early intervention (ages 3-5) centers, consulted with the Wyoming Department of Health’s Behavioral Health Division and the Wyoming Department of Education regarding assessments, eligibility and best practices. I have provided assessment services for high-needs students through the Next Step Clinic funded through the WDE Deaf-Blind Project.

I also currently serve as a board member on the Wyoming State Board of Education, representing local school boards, after being appointed by Governor Mark Gordon in March of 2023.  At a state level I have worked collaboratively with the Wyoming Department of Education, the State Board of Education, and other agencies to reduce learning standards that have created over-testing of our students and burdens on our teachers.

The greatest asset however, to my qualifications as a continued candidate for school board is my heart for service.  Since moving to Lander in 2015 I have felt it a duty to serve my community to help provide a positive and fulfilling environment for children. Additionally, I believe it is important to teach my children the importance of volunteering and helping others. During my time serving my community I have been able to build relationships with many families in the community.

  • I have served in a volunteer role since December of 2020 as a FCSD #1 School Board Trustee.
  • Active in service work through my church and other community events and projects.
  • I served on the Lander Children’s Museum Board of Directors for 4 years and was the Board Chair for two years.
  • I have volunteered as a coach/team mom for the Lander USA Wrestling program, as a coach for the Lander Baseball Association and Lander Recreation soccer, and volunteer as a coordinator/team mom for the Lander Football League.

Throughout my 16 years in the school setting I have seen first hand the challenges teachers, school staff, and administrators face with providing the best education possible for our students. I also see the importance of having an environment rich in open communication and respect where staff members have a voice and feel valued while also providing parents an opportunity to share what they feel is best for their children.

I want to continue to strengthen the bridge of communication between parents and our school staff members who work so diligently to educate and nourish our children. I believe my professional knowledge of education, the school culture, child development, and my experience as a concerned and active board member continue to make me a valuable asset to the FCSD#1 school board. I will listen to your concerns and ensure our parents and educators are valued and heard.
